In a well-intentioned attempt to improve their bond, a father takes his teenage daughter to the Moluccan quarter he grew up in. But unresolved family traumas put their relationship on edge.
During the summer holidays, the impulsive Agus (32) takes his teenage daughter Robin (14) to his parents in the Moluccan quarter he grew up in. Here, he hopes to improve their father-daughter relationship and introduce the Dutchified Robin to the Moluccan culture: from kite fighting, food and music to solidarity and spirituality. But unresolved traumas within the family put their relationship on edge. Father and daughter even drift further apart in this coming-of-age-drama about discovering your roots.
