Around a trash can in a neighbourhood centre, Jayden, Nour, and Kian share their frustrations about climate change, cultural differences, and the future – before taking us into the dreams and struggles of their home lives.
In a community centre, a group of children stands in a circle around a trash can with a youth worker. What begins as a playful exercise becomes a powerful outlet in this graduation film, where playfulness actually allows them to express their questions, fears and dreams. We follow three of them in their personal worlds: Jayden is searching for her own voice as a DJ; Nour navigates between the worlds of her Dutch friends and her Egyptian father; and Kian follows his imagination through climate disasters and political impotence.
