A journey through the unfamiliar universe of plankton. These numerous, magnificent organisms are invisible to the naked eye, yet they are the source of all aquatic life.
Short film about the invisible world of living microscopic plankton, an unfamiliar universe inhabited by alien-like creatures. These magnificent organisms are unknown to most people. And yet they can be found in large numbers in all aquatic environments. Capturing them through his microscope, Jan van IJken reveals the beauty and delicate structures of plankton. Without any voice-over or comment, but with a soundtrack composed by Norwegian artist Jana Winderson, the film moves between art and science.
