Musical coming-of-age drama series in which the endearing, persistent Patty follows her dreams, stopped by nobody and nothing, going from small-minded Winschoten to vibrant The Hague.
In 1956, twenty-year-old Patty lives with her father in a remote cottage on a dyke in Winschoten, Groningen. Patty and her best friend Peter work at the local grocery store, where she loves to lustily sing the songs Peter writes for her. Patty feels trapped in the small village with its surly Groningen mentality and firmly believes she is destined for grander things. Eight-part musical drama series, based on the eponymous family musical in which Patty leaves behind her dull life for a sparkling career in the music scene in The Hague.
