When after a prison term the ailing sixty-something Paultje moves in with his elder brother Paul who is stuck in a rut in Amsterdam-Noord, they are immediately confronted with their strenuous relationship and a dark family history, in this documentary.
When Paultje (61) leaves prison, homeless and with serious kidney problems, he asks his elder, also ailing brother Paul (79) if he can move in with him. Once they live under one roof, an onerous, black family history makes the already complex bond between the two brothers even more complex. Around a little, cosy house in a working-class neighbourhood in Amsterdam-Noord, the siblings try to improve their arduous brotherhood in this documentary. They hope for reconciliation, before it is too late.
