After her dearest childhood friend’s death, Marijn Frank inherits her running clothes. She hates running, but starts to train for the Berlin marathon. Running and grieving, she reminisces about friendship, illness and death.
Marijn and Annemarie have been friends since secondary school. When Annemarie becomes seriously ill, she asks Marijn to film her, for when her daughter will be grown up. Marijn captures the last year of Annemarie’s life. After her death, all that’s left is emptiness and sadness. Marijn decides to go and train, in Annemarie’s clothes, who used to be a fanatic runner, for the Berlin marathon. The documentary follows her during her painful pursuit to regain pleasure in life.
