Like an old fragile bird, a woman shuffles across the street in a heavy coat. She is followed by a camera from behind a window. The camera greets her when she stands in the door and accompanies her on her slow trip up the narrow, soaring stairway. Silently, but affectionately, the woman is described by the camera: close-ups show the countless wrinkles on her face, the fragile body and the circumspect movements of her hands.
