In the jogtrot of daily life, you can fall back on routines and existing agreements, but when something new happens, the moment has come really for the ruler, or the choreographer, to stand up and literally try something new. To try, apart from the existing means, to initiate a renewal that takes the whole or the performance one step further. A DJ, VJ, composer, dancer and light designer meet each other and the audience on an unusual evening. Is it a dance night that gets out of hand, an unconventional reception or a theatrical concert? Anyway, the swift tempo and rapidly shifting perspectives cannot prevent that eventually all will have to deal with the existence of Buck: a man whose life is in danger. In Buck Central, choreographer Jack Gallagher strives for a well-matched mix of video, music, light and dance. He challenges the spectators and tries to make them accomplices in the progress of the night. In a continuous three-hour performance, two dancers represent the two sides of life (and of Buck's life). In the process, the story will literally propel those present. The double identity is not only inherent in the dancers, but also in the music, the video footage and the architecture that is reflected in the lighting. The performance is a perfect example of a combination of club, dance, theatre and museum.
