In Arbi’s safe hairdresser’s hands, undocumented men find each other. Here, friendships develop. The men live in a suspension mode, but have to stay alert: their lives may change any time.
While Arbi gives them a haircut, several undocumented men meet. This gives them a place to openly discuss their lives. From necessity, the men lead their lives in the Netherlands from their suitcases. They know: great luck only comes in very small portions. This documentary debut shows how the men, poised between solidarity and loneliness, are in suspended mode. Friendships quickly develop, are temporary, but feel like eternal. After all, everything may change, and that’s when you’ll need each other. Even more so in a country where you are officially illegal.
