As a child, you always knew exactly whose table you were welcome at after five o'clock. This documentary debut centres on two chosen mothers who took in a young Congolese migrant after her own mother abandoned her. Now, this daughter looks back with her foster mothers on how it all unfolded, and why they mattered so much in her life. What happens to a child when their mother — their only anchor — abandons them? And how do you learn to live with that feeling of abandonment?
