How can you cope with your mother’s premature death if you don’t exactly know under which conditions she died? Through home videos and phone conversations with relatives, Laura looks for answers.
In this personal debut documentary, Laura tries to cope with her mother’s mysterious death, now twelve years ago. Using home videos and helped by family members in Nigeria, she tries to find out who her untimely deceased mother was as a person, as a woman and as a parent. Talking on the phone to relatives, she brings back memories of her and tries to discover what exactly was the cause of her mother’s death. But the distance hinders her efforts. Could the answers to Laura’s questions be nearer than she thought?
