Since the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, the number of Afghan immigrants in Iran has exceeded 3.5 million. The young generation of the Afghan immigrants was born and grew up in Iran. Most of them have never been to Afghanistan. But old and young, the Afghan folks are born with songs. They sing for everything, for love, for sorrow and for their wish to live with full passion. Should they stay or should they go, where do they belong?
This is the dilemma they are struggling with every day which also find its way into the songs composed by the young generation. There is no obvious answer to it and the dilemma will not disappear. Hesitation, pain, farewell and even death may accompany each step they take.
