Topical television drama in black & white based on the theatre monologue Killer's Head by the American playwright Sam Shepard, who wrote the piece as an indictment of the ease with which people talk about employing the death penalty. Killer's head is about a man sentenced to death who is in his cell waiting for his execution. In the film, the prisoner talks about his past life and about his great passion for horses. His memories of the past are pushed aside by images and sounds of what he has been through in the last few days. Days he spends in jail. Hours that separate him from death.
