During the family Christmas dinner, Willem’s depressed son Jona isolates himself in his room. Willem tries to draw him in, but must come to terms with the fact he cannot fight Jona’s battle for him.
The table is filled with delicious food and the family has gathered for a festive Christmas dinner, but Willem's attention is divided. His son Jona (18), who is struggling with depression, remains in his room. Willem occasionally brings him food, trying to include him in the evening in some small way, but the seat he keeps open stays empty. As the night goes on, Willem realizes – in this graduation film – that he cannot fix Jona’s struggle, and that it’s better to seek out small moments of being together.
