Olifantje in het bos

Director: Meikeminne Clinckspoor
When Olivia (6) and her sister Nim (11) get lost on their way to a family party, Ollie feels very responsible for her sister with Down syndrome. Like a little lost elephant in the forest, she learns that she doesn’t have to do everything on her own — sometimes she can simply hold on to Nim’s tail.
Olivia (6) lives with her mother, father, and half-sister Nim (11) in a cosy house in a busy city. Nim has Down syndrome, and while Olivia thinks she’s the sweetest sister in the world, she sometimes feels the weight of responsibility that comes with it. For their grandmother’s 75th birthday, which the whole family is celebrating, Olivia and Nim prepare a special performance. But on their way to the party, they lose their way in the forest. Through music, quarrels, and making up again, the sisters discover that caring is not just Olivia’s task. They learn that, like two little elephants, they can take turns pulling each other forward.
