Calmly walking ahead of an icebreaker that ploughs the ice of the Finnish Golf of Bothnia - thus representing fragile man - is an invention of striking ingenuity by artist Guido van der Werve.
Representation of fragile man, bravely trudging across the surface of the earth. In the middle of the screen, an icebreaker moves toward the static camera. The ship ploughs the vast, frozen plain of the Finnish Gulf of Bothnia. At the same calm pace, a man walks ahead of the ship. Slowly, they come closer. The man walks just far enough ahead of the ship not to be crushed between the breaking ice. The ice and wind are clearly audible.
