André, jobless and mourning, and homeless teenager Thierry jointly start a search for the latter’s family. Their trip marks the beginning of an extraordinary friendship.

Once again, the NFF looks beyond the Dutch borders and screens several outstanding co-productions with our southern neighbours, including features Dealer and Nowhere and the documentary A Parked Life.

Ex-truck driver André (55) spends his days refurbishing a remote roadside restaurant. His routine life is shaken when he catches the homeless teenager Thierry who attempts to burgle the place. Deeply affected by his story, André takes him under his wings and together they look for a trace of Thierry’s family. During their road trip, not only an extraordinary friendship grows, but also the realisation that they need each other to let the past rest and look to the future.
