Rather than telling a story, this non-narrative film invites the viewer to look again. Linger a little longer, and notice what usually goes unseen.
"Keep looking for things where nothing happens," avant-garde filmmaker Jonas Mekas once wrote. And that's exactly what this non-narrative graduation film does, its maker heading out with a Super 8 camera to capture the quiet richness of everyday life that so often goes unnoticed. Drawing on Guy Debord's concept of the dérive, Mekas' attentiveness to the everyday, and the Chinese Taoist philosophy of wu wei (not-acting), the film becomes an exploration of what can be discovered when we stay open to whatever presents itself.
