Heart-warming roadmovie by and about one of the grandest filmmakers in the Netherlands. When Heddy Honigmann is told she does not have long to live, she returns to the place where it all began: her native house in Peru.
When director Heddy Honigmann learns she does not have much longer to live, she decides to make a trip along places and people that are really significant to her. She returns to Peru, the country she grew up in and where she shot the documentary classic Metaal en melancholie. She shares memories with old friends, meets people whom she lent a voice in her documentaries and pays a visit to the place where it all started: the house she was born in. She looks back on her family history and her extensive body of works, including award-winning films like Hersenschimmen, Het ondergronds orkest and O Amor Natural.
