What if we decentralise human vision? This short experimental documentary explores visual territories that are invisible to the naked eye and questions the boundaries between man, machine and nature.
Our world view is based on optical information ('seeing is believing!') and our visual culture leans on ingrained habits with the human spectrum as the norm. But we are living in a post-optical world, where non-human visions– of machines, animals or plants – enable us to look beyond our own viewpoint. A vivid example is the use of digital infrared technology, which makes invisible data visible. In this short experimental video essay, an ultra-soundscape accompanies an ongoing conversation with ChatGPT. This inspires an exploration of non-human visions that open doors to the transcendental.
