Documentary about five inhabitants of De Werf, an institution for mentally-handicapped people in North Amsterdam. The film is a sequel to Kok's earlier documentary Mevrouw is u van de hemel?, in which one could see how a staff member at night communicates using a complex sound system with the inhabitants of the centre. Imperfect but Infinitely Beautiful shows te everyday life of five young men in the home. Several of them are also followed during te trips they made with Marja Kok or when they went home to their parents for a weekend. The film observes the men, shows their specific idiosyncrasies and potential and shows that -- as one of them sings in a song -- they are `Imperfect but Infinitely Beautiful'.
