Film version of the book by Virginia Woolf. Clarissa Dalloway is an elegant lady who thinks back on the years when she enjoyed life surrounded by her admirers. When one of them suddenly turns up, that throws her orderly life into confusion. Marleen Gorris has translated the 'stream of consciousness' style of the novel into film by allowing the narration to reflect on Mrs. Dalloway's thoughts.
