Annie Balliro, Laurie Graff en Leigh Jackson are women who live and work in New York. They have divergent ages and careers, but they have at least one thing in common: they are single and (desperately) looking for a man. Not an easy mission in a metropolis where women have a majority in numbers and every man in the street can choose from a wide selection of beautiful and willing women. In a snazzily edited and conceived documentary, director Dree Andrea presents three portraits of these women. She follows them in their work, at home, going out and when they, sometimes with irony, reflect on their situation. This leads to sometimes painful outpourings and conclusions. She also spoke with friends and family of her protagonists. Mr. Right is also a portrait of the city of New York, which like a jealous and demanding mistress asks so much of its inhabitants that they lack the time and energy for discovering their true desires.
