The opening credits are a fresh, short animation film in which two pigeons (the male has an injured foot) are cooing amorously on a romantic fence. Then, hard reality begins, with Frits Lambrechts as a good-humoured vagabond. He rides around on his motorised delivery bicycle and finds, apart from a heeltap of red wine, the injured pigeon. The latter constitutes a well-balanced Christmas meal in his messy hovel, but the pigeon sits rather heavy on his stomach.
