Monologue intérieur uses a mobile phone call as a dramatic means. The viewer hears one side of the emotional conversation in French that a Dutch woman, played by the director, has with her troubled boyfriend. When she is stared at by everyone in a Rotterdam tram, she looks for deserted places along the waterfront, while the conversation becomes increasingly fierce.
