Wartime chaos changes to beauty. In a small house, a girl is playing with her marbles. Butterflies flutter about while a TV screen shows black-and-white images of a war. The theme 'hidden truth' of this colourful puppet animation lies close to that of the seventh symphony of Shostakovich, the composer who had a hard time of it under Stalin. His seventh was dedicated to the defeat of the enemy. Officially, this was Hitler, but between the lines it was an indictment of Stalin.
