Mas Ku Palabra

Director: Jordan Daniel
What does it mean to be from Curaçao? And is the Papiamentu language the key to the answer? Three island dwellers tell about it in this documentary, that wonders if identity is mas ku palabra (more than words).
For many years, filmmaker Jordan Daniel did not really care about Curaçao, his parents’ native island. But the older he grew, the more he felt the need to delve into it. For his graduation film Mas Ku Palabra (more than words), Daniel took his camera to the island, to find out what the Curaçao identity exactly is. Is it the Papiamentu language? The shared colonial history? Or is it something else? Islanders lift a corner of the veil to reveal what they think defines a real 'yu di Kòrsou'.
