After her husband’s death, author and artist Marion Bloem has to resume her life. After 51 years of marriage, the loss is very poignant. By painting, she copes with her pain and grief, as long as words are insufficient.
They had known each other for their whole lives: writer and artist Marion Bloem and doctor Ivan Wolffers. From when she was 15, the two had been inseparable for 51 years. This documentary follows Bloem from the moment her companion dies after a wasting disease. Mourning his death, Bloem finds support and solace in her art. Painting in particular offers her the tools to cope with her grief, because she is not able yet to find the right words to commit her feelings to paper.
