Documentary portrait of South African Tsakane, member of the world’s first anti-poaching unit that wholly consists of female rangers. How does she experience this male-dominated environment?
In the Balule Nature Reserve in South Africa, the world’s first wildlife ranger unit wholly consisting of women is active: the Black Mambas Anti-Poaching Unit. This documentary closely follows one of them. Tsakane (27) non-violently devotes herself to a better future for both nature and the women in South Africa, who in a male-dominated society have to deal with prejudice and traditions. Who is this equally brave and vulnerable woman behind her formal uniform?
