Luwte

Director: Naäma Palfrey
Two sisters with opposing characters have to clear out their deceased mother’s farm. At this tough time, the memories of their mother eventually bring them closer together.

Emma comes over from Spain to help her sister Iris clear out their deceased mother’s house. Due to their opposing characters and individual ways of coping with their grief, they cannot reach each other and end up quarrelling. Eventually, the memory of their mother while packing and discarding things brings the two sisters closer together again.
Debut film Luwte does not need many dialogues. While the old farm gets emptier and emptier, precisely the lack of words and the telling looks and gestures bring out the past.
