Comical feature film version of a TV series about five psychiatric patients who are forced to move, because their familiar Zonnendael clinic is in a dilapidated state.
Comic feature film adaptation from the TV series of the same name revolves around five psychiatric patients. Because their familiar Zonnendael clinic is in very bad shape, the schizophrenic Major Breedero, the nymphomaniac romantic Bep Brul (played respectively by scriptwriters Waardenberg and Van Holst Pelikaan), the so-called disabled fatso Fats, the psychotic tall Mrs. De Haas and manic-depressive Dr. Dolittle move to a new home along with their director and nurse. This turns out to be a closed institution, run by a dreadful head nurse using a medieval therapy. Soon, their own nurse is fired while their director is painting the town red on his brand-new yacht. The astonished patients refuse to accept the Spartan treatment and know what they have to do: escape and return to Zonnendael. During an exciting quest, however, the group disintegrates due to panic and quarrels and each patient experiences his or her own big adventure.
