On the remote and thinly populated West Coast of Ireland, it is very difficult for many men to find a wife. That is why many of them look forward to September every year, when a marriage market is organised in the village of Lisdoonvarna, following age-old tradition. A marriage broker registers the candidates and tries to bring together potential lovers in the local pubs. There the 'seekers' try a dance in an attempt to find a partner for life. Lisdoonvarna - Lourdes of Love portrays a cattle farmer, a gardener and a stone mason. Three bachelors who have not yet found the right one for a variety of reasons and try their luck at the market.
