For all his life, cult actor Rutger Hauer kept the outside world at a distance. But in his inner circle, he filmed generously. This (private) footage, never shown before, shows the real Hauer and his views on the world.
To the outside world, internationally acclaimed actor Rutger Hauer (Turks Fruit, Blade Runner) was a charismatic icon and a mystery in one. Privately however, Hauer documented his life on film, which resulted in countless videos: shot in Friesland, on his boat and in his camper, as well as behind the scenes of movie sets abroad. In this debut documentary, we see the unconditional love for his wife Ineke and his friends. Conversations with his spouse, loved ones and world-renowned colleagues reveal the real man behind the star.
