Brooke Heinke is a retarded 18-year-old girl from the lower-class urban district of Amsterdam-Noord. After her mother’s sudden death, Brooke finds solace with Céline Dion. She desperately wants to meet her idol, so she puts the money she earns at the sheltered workshop aside for a ticket to Las Vegas, where Dion performs. When Brooke’s life takes a second dramatic turn, she pulls out all stops to realise her big dream. The tragicomic film is based on Hanna Bervoets’ novel.
