Three-part TV series depicts the changing social environment of Surinam Hindus in the Netherlands. In 1975, after a serious conflict with his brother, the 18-year-old Milan Rambharos turns his back on his native country and goes to Holland to study medicine. Twenty-five years later, he has a fine job, is married and has two adolescent children. Tension rises when the doctor has problems at work and there is some discord about how to raise the children. When one day Milan is notified that his father is dying, the family is forced to travel to Surinam, the country they have suppressed for so long. They not only meet with huge cultural differences between the families, but also mutual alienation. Two episodes are screened during the festival.
