In 2002, Van der Haak made Lagos/Koolhaas, a documentary about self-organisation and urbanisation in Nigeria, in collaboration with architect Rem Koolhaas and The Harvard Project on the City. As a sequel to this, she and designer Silke Wawro developed a new project: Lagos: Wide and Close is an interactive DVD that wants to bring the viewer as close as possible to the explosively growing metropolis Lagos.
