La vie de Jean-Marie

Director: Peter van Houten
Jean-Marie was born the eldest son of a large family. In 1948, his Dutch father bought a mountain in the French Pyrenees, the region where Jean-Marie is now a parish priest. In this feel-good documentary in cinéma-vérité form, the jovial greybeard frankly explains how the rejection by the love of his youth determined his decision to take the cloth. But he still fantasises about love. At the age of 75, he takes a radical decision that leaves everyone baffled.
