One year in the life of catering tycoon Won Yip. Is the life of the Dragons Den millionaire who trumped Brad Pitt really as glamourous as imagined? And which family secret lies hidden under his success?
Every morning, when everyone is still asleep, Won Yip descends, deep beneath Dam Square, into his ‘bunker’, to run his empire from there. Flanked by his sister Anine and his brother Johnny, his fixer. In this smoke-filled basement with flickering fluorescent lights, the drama unfolds behind the façade of this successful entrepreneur. He has been working here for thirty years, frenetically, deprived of sunlight. We hear him on the phone and are witnesses to his rigorous way of conducting business. Won does not take no for an answer and pilfered a penthouse right under Brad Pitt’s nose. Gradually, it becomes clear that his craving for control can be traced back to a Chinese family tragedy.
