On 6 May 1978, actor Ko van Dijk died of a heart attack at the age of 61. In forty years, Van Dijk played more than three hundred roles. He got married six times. In this documentary about the life and work of this legendary actor, colleagues and relatives talk about his life. By means of salient occurrences and anecdotes related by people like Jeroen Krabbé, Joop van den Ende, stepdaughter Linda van Dijck and ex-wife Emmy Scholte (96), both the actor and the man Van Dijk are delineated. The big understatement is that Ko van Dijk was a `multifaceted' man - on all fronts. The documentary by Paul Haenen and Coen Verbraak provides a revealing portrait, the subtle structure and editing of which pays respect to the deceased actor and does not fall prey to sensationalism. A few rare film excerpts are a feast to the eye by themselves.
