Short film, adapted from H.C. Andersen's fairy tale about two farmers. Little Claus is poor, but cleverly manages, by using other people's superstition and fear, to benefit by all sorts of setbacks. This stimulates the greed of rich Big Claus, who thinks he will feather his nest by roughly applying the same method. No man or animal is spared. However, results fail to materialise and eventually stupidity and greed lead to Big Claus' ruin.
