Does the end justify the means? Anti-apartheid activist Klaas de Jonge is confronted with the people whose lives have irreparably changed due to the choices he made. About ideals and irrevocable consequences.
In 1985, the Dutch anti-apartheid activist Klaas de Jonge is arrested in South Africa on suspicion of arms smuggling and terrorism. Ingeniously, De Jonge manages to escape South African police by taking refuge in the Dutch embassy in Pretoria. He is stuck in there for the next two years. More than thirty years later, in the erstwhile embassy room, De Jonge meets the people whose lives took another turn as a result of the armed struggle he was associated with: his children, his guard, the victim of a car bomb and surviving relatives. They ask him the key question: Did the end justify the means?
