Documentary triptych about Jewish war orphans. These children, who largely lost their parents in the war, often remained in (Christian) foster-families after the liberation. The film brings five former war orphans back to their original surroundings and to the world where they found themselves because of the war. Two sisters, two brothers and a girl, now between 51 and 62, talk about their experiences as children in hiding and their problems with their double identity in various locations in Holland, Poland and Israel. Awarded a Golden Calf for Best Full-length Documentary in 1992.
