Karim

Karim (13) has just moved to Makkum, in Friesland. Everything feels different, and he often thinks back to his home in Syria, where his best friend Laith lives. To stay connected to his old life, he learns to play the oed, an instrument he finds beautiful. His mother helps him feel more at home in the Netherlands and encourages him to make new friends. In this film, already shown at various international festivals, Karim tries to find a place for the memories of his homeland, and weave them into his new life in the Netherlands.
