Jonna Fraser - Tyar' En Waka

Director: Caio Silva
Tyar’ En Waka is a powerful visual tribute to Suriname and to the inner resilience needed to keep going when life gets heavy. Inspired by the Sranantongo expression meaning “keep walking” or “keep going,” the clip tells a universal story about hope, perseverance, the power of perspective, and how happiness starts within, even in difficult circumstances. For those without a voice or a pat on the back, this is an artistic reminder to carry on, with a straight back and an open heart.
This 2025 edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Fullscreen x XITE program!
Fullscreen x XITE has been a festival highlight for years. Over the past eight editions, clips from a wide variety of artists have been featured: from S10 to Kempi, from André Hazes to Akwasi, from Froukje to De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. But also international clips by Madonna, Janelle Monáe, and James Blake. After all, Dutch directors go far and wide, creating music videos that reach well beyond our borders. So, once again this year, you can look forward to a richly diverse program! The selection will be announced in August.
In between the clips, the program’s creator, Job de Wit, will talk with directors and artists. This way, you’ll hear the stories behind the videos, gain insight into the making of music videos, and learn more about the creative collaboration between directors and artists.
