Documentary about the Amsterdam accordionist Johnny Meijer, who died in January 1992 at the age of 79. Meijer is regarded as one of the all time great accordion players in the world, with a repertoire which ranged from traditional Amsterdam songs to jazz. The film portrays a virtuoso accordionist towards the end of his career. The first shots of this documentary were filmed two weeks before his death when Meijer went to buy a dinner-jacket for his (last) performance in the Concertgebouw. The story is completed by people close to him, especially by Meijer's youngest son.
