Cinematographic recording of the play by the Dutch theatre group Orkater. Jemand auf der Treppe is theatre, music theatre and concert all in one. You hear unadulterated sound. Noise as music, performed in an obscure engine room where artist Peter Zegveld and Orkater resident composer Thijs van der Poll slide around like true scientists, occasionally breaking the industrial cadence with a lighthearted ukelele, electric guitar or brass melody. The whole piece was filmed in one shot with one HDTV camera. The camera moved among the actors and registered the action from their points of view.
