The phenomenon of 'freezing' during sexual violence is still too often misunderstood. This personal, poetical documentary brings stories about strength and vulnerability together with insights in the flight of a dragonfly.
Intense close-ups of the body visualising repressed feelings of shame, grief, anger and pain are interwoven with the flight of a dragonfly. This flight is inspired by scientific research, which shows that female dragonflies deliberately crash to escape sexual violence. By tying the women’s stories to the strength and vulnerability of this phenomenon, Infinite Lines sheds light on the nature of our physical reactions and how this grates against the emotions we connect to it.
