In Between These Mountains

Olivier S. Garcia, the director of this personal documentary, travels to the US with his father when his half-brother has been released from prison. The reunion reveals that the Garcia men may share the same blood, but in age, character, education and connection with their Mexican-American roots, they do not share many resemblances. Still, they try to make the best of this male bonding experience. Parallel to the American landscape, we see the capricious, emotional inner landscape of men who are weighed down under a family history of migration and foundered fatherhood.
