An obsessive mother finds out her daughter is just pretending to be ailing and unable to walk. Thrilling drama about smothering dedication and the freedom to walk (away).
Isolated from the outside world, there is a stately, hermetically closed villa. The bleak stillness around it makes the silence deafening. A mother obsessively cares for her ailing daughter who can’t walk. Until she finds out her daughter is just pretending. The debut filmHome puts the viewer right in the middle of the uncomfortable tension between two characters who hold each other captive in their (self-)destruction. How far can love for another person go if it is to your own detriment? When do good intentions veer round, and does ‘loving someone’ smother you?
