Four-part political drama series about the rise and fall of a young politician. The story is set in 2010 and The Hague is still the political centre of Holland. Prime Minister Willem Rahussen appoints his young and ambitious political associate Gijs van Dorp as his successor. Jealous party members, a skeleton in the cupboard and an unknown viral disease sweeping Holland ensure that Gijs van Dorp doesn't quite make it. All of this is set against the background of an eighties revival with a role for an infantile crown prince (Porgy Franssen) who is reluctantly forced to prepare for a rapid succession to the throne.
